Philadelphia, PA (January 18, 2022) – One or more victims were injured in a car crash on a major highway in Philadelphia on Tuesday morning, January 18.
According to local officials, the accident happened around 6:43 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the Schuylkill Expressway around the area of City Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
