Philadelphia, PA (April 8, 2022) – A driver was killed in a fatal crash that took place around 12:30 a.m. in Philadelphia on Friday morning, April 8.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened on I-95 around the area of Front Street. A pickup truck was traveling in one direction when their tire flew off of their vehicle. It then headed into the southbound lanes, where it collided with a vehicle that was traveling in the other direction. The vehicle lost control and crashed, which led to extensive damages.
Several local responders, including Philadelphia paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the vehicle that was struck by the tire was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was hurt in the collision.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes for an extended period of time. Police had the scene cleared by the time the morning commute came in.
