Philadelphia, PA (September 10, 2022) – Authorities say a woman died following an accident that occurred Saturday morning, September 10th, in the Germantown area.
A Germantown ambulance worker was killed early Saturday morning in a collision between two ambulances.
According to the police, two ambulances were sent to a residence on West Chelten Avenue, close to Wayne Avenue, to take a patient just after 10:00 a.m.
The ambulances were lined up with the first one in front. Right after exiting the vehicle, the ambulance driver realized the ambulance was in reverse, but when he hopped back in to stop the car from rolling backward, he hit the accelerator instead. A 32-year-old woman was standing in the path of both cars when she was crushed. She was taken to the hospital with critical injuries but ultimately passed away a short time later.
The inquiry is still ongoing, and new information has not been released.
