Compensation That Victims Can Recover After a Motorcycle Accident in Tredyffrin, PA
People hurt in a motorcycle crash can generally pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering, along with property damage to the motorcycle itself.
Because motorcyclists usually face more severe injuries than occupants of a passenger vehicle, compensation in these cases can also extend to long-term or future medical care, including physical therapy, surgery, or rehabilitation tied to fractures, road rash, or joint damage. In more serious cases, a person may also recover for diminished earning capacity if injuries limit their ability to return to the same type of work.
Pennsylvania follows a modified comparative negligence rule, meaning an injured rider can still recover compensation as long as they’re found 50% or less at fault for the crash; at 51% or more, recovery is barred entirely.
Insurers commonly tend to examine lane position and right-of-way closely in cases like this one, which is one reason a motorcycle accident lawyer can get involved early to help document the full extent of injuries and losses before a settlement offer is made.
