Philadelphia, PA (April 22, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a car accident that took place on a major roadway in Philadelphia on Friday afternoon, April 22.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at 1:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of US-1 around the area of Ninth Street and Kelly Drive. Several vehicles were traveling in the southbound lanes of traffic when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide with one another. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained severe damages and had to be towed from the scene.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more individuals suffered from injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their identities and conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the collision, a portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time.
