Fatal Car Accidents in Pennsylvania
According to data collected from Pennsylvania roadways over the last year, rear-end crashes are the second most prevalent car accident. Thousands of these crashes each year involving several vehicles are reported in Pennsylvania, so drivers must exercise extra caution. More importantly, many of the accidents occurring throughout our state involved several drivers, leading to complicated questions about liability and injuries in the aftermath.
Regardless of the type of crash, unsafe driving is the most common contributor to accidents, particularly when it comes to distracted motorists. In Pennsylvania, the most common reason for rear-end collisions, for instance, is when drivers text or drive or otherwise drive while distracted. Moreover, despite the typical negligence behind these accidents, there are occasions when it is highly complex to determine who is at fault.
For instance, one of the most important factors determining the severity of injuries sustained in an accident is the speed of the vehicle causing the collision. Most rear-end crashes occur when one driver abruptly stops, causing the vehicle in front of them to careen into the traffic going from the other direction. But what happens when the precise speed of all drivers generally matches or several different factors contribute to a single accident?
Of course, if you were injured in a collision, the negligent driver who caused the wreck in question should cover your medical expenses and lost income. Unfortunately, when a policyholder is seriously hurt or even rendered permanently disabled due to a vehicle accident, the insurance company may attempt to avoid paying for the policyholder’s long-term care or lost income and future earning potential despite their lack of fault in contributing to a wreck.
