Philadelphia, PA (February 10, 2022) – On Thursday afternoon, February 10, a multi-vehicle collision took place on a highway in Philadelphia that led to injuries.
Philadelphia Police confirmed that the accident happened at 4:21 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-476 around the area of mile marker 4.5. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide with each other. The involved vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene by tow trucks.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims suffered from injuries caused by the accident. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
The roadway was almost entirely blocked in all southbound lanes as police worked to clear the scene. This led to delays until traffic resumed as normal.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
