Philadelphia, PA (February 20, 2022) – Injuries were reported following a six-vehicle crash on a major Philadelphia highway on Sunday morning, February 20.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at 3 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the Schuylkill Expressway around the area of Montgomery Drive. Six vehicles were traveling in the area when they became involved in a chain-reaction collision due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two people sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were rushed to local hospitals for treatment.
All eastbound lanes of traffic were blocked on the highway for an extended period of time. It took police about an hour to fully clear the scene, ending delays in the area.
