Runnemede, NJ (May 27, 2022) – On the afternoon of Thursday, May 26, an accident involving a runaway dump truck tire on a South Jersey roadway left a Pennsylvania woman with a broken neck.
The woman, a 61-year-old from Macungie, was driving southbound on Route 42 in the Runnemede area around 2:00 p.m. when the incident occurred. Her SUV was struck by a tire, which came off of a dump truck going northbound.
The victim was rushed to Cooper University Hospital in Camden by ambulance, where she is presently undergoing treatment and surgery to repair broken vertebrae located in her neck and back.
