Summit, NJ (May 20, 2022) – At least one person died during a pile-up crash on Route 24 in Summit on Thursday, May 19th.
According to local law enforcement officers, a serious accident took place at about 2:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Route 24 in the area of Hobart Avenue. The incident resulted in the closure of the immediate area for several hours.
Police on the scene stated that the collision involved six passenger vehicles and a tractor-trailer.
New Jersey State Police said that several people sustained critical injuries and at least one person was killed.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined but the investigation is ongoing.
