Teaneck, NJ (May 18, 2023) – Traffic on Route 4 in Teaneck was backed up on Thursday morning, May 18, after an accident took place between a dump truck and a Tesla.
Airbags deployed, and at least one person was sent to the hospital after the collision, which occurred at around 5:40 a.m., according to a statement provided by Teaneck police chief Andrew McGurr. McGurr added that he would leave it up to the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department to release further details in the coming days.
In the meantime, it was unclear how serious the victims’ injuries were.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation reported ongoing delays Thursday morning due to the closure of two lanes on Route 4. Both the fire department and ambulance service in Teaneck rushed to the scene, though they also did not comment on the specifics surrounding the crash or its victims.
