West Windsor, NJ (April 25, 2022) – On Friday evening, April 22, a head-on collision with injuries took place at an intersection in West Windsor.
According to local officials, the accident happened at 6:12 p.m. at the intersection of Clarksville Road and Blue Jay Way. A Ford was traveling south in the area when it suddenly crossed over the center line, causing it to collide head-on with a Toyota that was traveling north. Police believe that the driver of the Ford failed to control his vehicle and turned into oncoming traffic so that he would not strike a car in front of him, which caused the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Toyota, identified as a 40-year-old woman, was injured and hospitalized. A 3-year-old child in her vehicle sustained a collar bone injury and was unable to move her right arm. The driver of the Ford, identified as a 35-year-old man, was also injured and hospitalized. They are all expected to recover.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for about 2 and a half hours. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
