Wyncote, PA (January 23, 2022) – One person was killed and several were injured in a fatal crash that took place at a Wyncote intersection on Sunday morning, January 23.
According to Cheltenham Township Police, the accident happened around 1:34 a.m. at the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Hedgerow Lane. A driver was traveling in the area when they suddenly lost control of their vehicle due to reasons that are not entirely known. The driver crashed the vehicle, which caused extensive damages.
Paramedics and numerous other responders, including fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. Multiple people had to be extricated from the vehicle. Five victims were transported to local trauma centers, one of which was flown by medical helicopter. One person was pronounced dead while at the hospital.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked at the intersection for some time.
