Philadelphia, PA (January 8, 2022) – In the morning hours of Saturday, January 8, a multi-vehicle collision occurred in Philadelphia.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at 9 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-676 around the area of exit 344, Ben Franklin Parkway and 23rd Street. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to collide with each other. The involved vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries due to the accident. The injured parties were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
