Philadelphia, PA (January 20, 2022) – On Wednesday evening, January 19, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred on a highway in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia Police confirmed that the crash happened at 6:08 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 around the area of Academy Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to collide forcefully with each other. The involved vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes as police worked to clear the scene. This led to delays in the area for some time.
