Philadelphia, PA (February 6, 2022) – One person was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash that took place in Philadelphia on Sunday morning, February 6.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at 4:30 a.m. on West Girard Avenue near the area of North 41stStreet. A 2020 Land Rover was headed east on Girard when it was suddenly struck by a 2016 Chrysler on its passenger’s side. It is believed that the driver of the Land Rover was speeding at the time.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene. The passenger in the Land Rover, identified as an adult female, was thrown from the Land Rover. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police confirmed that the driver of the Land Rover received charges, though they are not known at this time.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
