According to the Haverford Township Police Department, a pickup truck began driving erratically before striking several vehicles, including a U-Haul. Police said 14 vehicles were involved in the crash.

How Do Insurance Companies Handle Multi-Vehicle Crash Claims in Havertown, PA?
After a multi-vehicle crash in Havertown, each driver’s insurer looks into the crash, decides how much its driver was at fault, and pays its share of the losses.
Before fault is decided, Pennsylvania first-party benefits under your own auto policy pay early medical bills, regardless of who caused the crash. This coverage can help with treatment expenses while the claim moves forward.
To understand how the crash unfolded, insurers may review police reports, photographs, witness accounts, and available video. This information can help them piece together the order in which the vehicles collided.
Along with medical costs, you may recover lost income, vehicle damage, and pain and suffering from the drivers responsible. The compensation available depends on the losses caused by the crash and the circumstances of the claim.
If you were partly at fault, your compensation is reduced by your share of responsibility. Pennsylvania’s comparative fault rule can prevent you from recovering compensation if you are more than 50% responsible.
When several insurers are involved, a car accident lawyer can review each company’s position, identify the policies that may apply, and handle communications on your behalf. An attorney can also address disputes over fault and evaluate whether a settlement offer reflects your losses.
